Howdy, all:
Just got back from the ABATE River Bash. 100 degrees in the shade, decently cool at night though. What a time! Hundreds of bikes, though attendance was down a little from last year. Guess there's too many people like Witch Doctor that hate the heat. ;-)
Highlight bikes for me were the two custom cruisers with Chevy 350 V-8's for engines. Woo-hoo, talk about "big inch" cruisers!!! Exhaust notes that'll definitely rattle your fillings, too. Come to think of it, there were several other "big-inch" sights that were pretty damned good-looking, too, but that's another story! (Don't know about THEIR "exhaust notes.")
There was even an original-engined knucklehead chopper there, lowered so the bottom frame rails were all of an inch off the ground. Bet he doesn't do much dirt-road riding! All-in-all, quite a blast. I should be recovered enough in a year for the next one.
